Care Circle Guide
Introducing Care Circle and My Memories
Care Circle connects family caregivers together to share notes and jointly create Memories to celebrate the life of your loved one with dementia. These Memory records can be used as personalised content making every interaction throughout the dementia journey a meaningful one.
*You will need to have an existing CARA account before you can be added to a Care Circle. Please ensure that you are using the most recent version of the ‘CARA SG’ app.
Set up your Care Circle
Step 01.
Sign in to your CARA app.
Ensure you are signed in to your Caregiver account.
If you have just signed up for CARA, your account will need to be approved before you can access the Care Circles feature.
Step 02.
Tap on “Care Circle”.
You will need to be an approved member to access this feature.
Step 03.
Tap "Join a Circle" then search for the account of your loved one with dementia, with the following details:
First Name or Last Name
Last 4 characters of NRIC
Tap “Search” then select the correct listing.
Step 04.
Select your relationship.
Pick your relationship with the person living with dementia from the list available, or select “Other” and type in the space provided.
You will need to agree with the acknowledgement then tap “Submit Request”.
A notification will be sent to your loved one’s with dementia CARA account.
Step 05.
Sign in to your loved one's with dementia CARA account.
Ensure you are now signed in to the CARA account of your Loved One with dementia (not Caregiver).
You should receive a notification to approve a request. Tap on the notification to Approve/Decline this request.
The requestor will receive a notification that they have been added to the Care Circle.
Optional
Assigning a caregiver as your Care Circle Admin*.
Up to two designated Caregivers may be given administrative rights to invite or approve other CARA members to the Care Circle, on behalf of your loved one with dementia.
Still signed in to the account of your Loved One with dementia, tap on “Care Circle”, and a list of caregivers will be displayed.
On the selected caregiver’s name, tap on the ellipsis “…” then “Set As”.
Select “Admin” and tap “OK”.
*Approving next-of-kin still requires signing in to the account of the person living with dementia.
Join a care circle
Step 01.
Sign in to your CARA app.
Ensure you are signed in to your Caregiver account.
*Your CARA membership will need to be approved before you can access the Care Circles feature.
Step 02.
Tap on “Care Circle”.
Step 03.
Tap "Join a Circle" then search for the account of your loved one with dementia, with the following details:
First Name or Last Name
Last 4 characters of NRIC
Tap “Search” then select the correct listing.
Step 04.
Select your relationship.
Pick your relationship with the person living with dementia from the list available, or select “Other” and type in the space provided.
You will need to agree with the acknowledgement then tap “Submit Request”.
A notification will be sent to your loved one’s with dementia or the Care Circle Admin’s CARA account.
Invite to Care Circle
Step 01.
Sign in to your CARA app.
Ensure you have been set up as a Care Circle Admin. Sign in to your Caregiver* account.
*Only Caregivers who have been set as the Care Circle Admin may invite members to the Care Circle.
Step 02.
Tap on “Care Circle”.
You will need to be an approved member to access this feature.
Step 03.
Tap the "Invite" button.
You will be taken to the “Invitation Requests” page.
Tap the “Invite” button again to be taken to a
Search page.
Step 04.
Search for a caregiver with the following details:
- First and Last Name
- Mobile Number
Step 05.
Input your invitation message.
Once the caregiver’s account is found, an additional ‘Message’ field will be visible. Input a short invitation message to the caregiver.
You will need to agree with the acknowledgement then tap “Invite”.
A notification will be sent to the account of the invited caregiver.
Accepting/Rejecting Care Circle Requests
Step 01.
Check for new invitation notifications.
Check your notifications regularly by clicking on the Bell icon in the CARA app.
If you have been invited to join a Care Circle, you will see a notification: Invited to Care Circle.
Tap the link to view your invitation.
Step 02.
Accepting/Rejecting the invitation.
You will be taken to an approval page. Check the name of the person with dementia.
To accept the invitation and be added to this person’s Care Circle, read and accept the Acknowledgement
and Terms of Use clauses.
Then click “Accept Invitation”.
Step 03.
Specify your relationship to the person with dementia
Pick your relationship with the person living with dementia from the list available, or select “Other” and type in the space provided.
You will need to agree with the acknowledgement then tap “Accept Invitation”.
Step 04.
Check Care Circle
From your home screen, tap on “Care Circle“. You have been successfully added to your loved one’s Care Circle.
Add a new "Memory"
Step 01.
Access your loved one's with dementia Care Circle.
From your CARA homescreen, tap on “Care Circle” then on the name of your loved one with dementia.
Step 02.
Tap the “Add a New Memory” button.
Tap on “Memories” then “Add a New Memory” to create a
new record.
Step 03.
Input the Memory details by adding the following details:
- Title
- URL Link
- Upload Photos
- Description
- File Attachment Name
- Upload File attachment
Step 04.
Create Tags for your Memory record to improve searchability.
Tap the “+” icon next to Tags to add a new Tag.
Type in your text in the space provided and click the “+” icon to add to the Tag list. You can have more than one Tag per memory record.
After adding all the desired Tags, tap the “Save Tag” button.
Step 05.
Saving Your Memory Record.
Specify if you would like this Memory to be shared with other members of the Care Circle.
Then tap the “Create Memory” button.
Step 06.
Record is successfully saved.
This Memory record is now available to all members of this Care Circle.
The record can be edited by tapping on “Edit Memory” at the top right of the screen.
